What grades determine:
butitmight: Your ability to memorize mostly useless things Your ability to regurgitate information in the way others want you to Your ability to understand what adults want from you and give it to them Your tolerance for working on tasks you don’t find useful because others want you to do them or believe them to be helpful/socially acceptable What grades do NOT determine: Your intelligence ...

"what are you made of?"
So I discovered that if you listen to The Killers song “Flesh and Bone” (it’s off the new album) right before bed, you will bring yourself to almost-tears. Okay, maybe this is just me. Edit Sept 19th: Okay really in love with this song. It sounds like a combination of all The Killers music.

salaamender: Sometimes I think to myself, “do I really want to buy another chocolate bar?” And then I remember that there is a super volcano under Yellowstone that is 40,000 years overdue and when it erupts it could potentially cover most if north America in ash and create a volcanic winter that kills half the worlds population And I’m like, hell yeah I want that chocolate bar This is...

This evening was pretty neat. I played Minecraft with my boyfriend, two of his friends, and my brother. We were all playing on my brothers server, and as we had planned, got together a whole bunch of supplies and went to the End. We all had armor, pumpkin helmets, and enchanted bows. The Enderdragon appeared fairly quickly and we all worked to slay it, it was a lot less stressful than anticipated....

I think ALL kids are plenty self-directed learning...
kissingunderspiderwebs: I think ALL kids are plenty self-directed learning the things they want to learn. It only looks NOT self-directed when they aren’t doing what you want them to do, on your timetable. My daughter taught herself cursive, my son did not. My son taught himself special effects video editing, my daughter did not. I think we notice (and praise, or give ourselves cookies) learning...

fattyfatdancepants: I’m starting to feel like there is literally NO POINT in pointing out ageism to childless feminists. You want to talk about intersectionality? Really? You do? Then start calling out people who proudly tout that they “hate children”. A whole class of human beings that have their autonomy taken away by society on a regular basis, who can be hit by their parents and it is...

Reblog if you actually love the 9th doctor and I...
exciteyourtits: afrogeekgoddess: bendingsignpost: roane72: arthurdentistry: Eccleston=Essential. If you skip 9 I will judge you SO HARD. I remember watching the episode Dalek and when the Dalek moved its eyestalk to look at its nonfunctional weapon arm, my dad and I freaked out. Because that was fucking awesome. Love love love Nine. A terribly overlooked Doctor. looooove ...
